6. granted, we checked out late (3:30pm instead of the usual 11:30 am check out time) but come on, it's fat tuesday, mardi gras day, do you really expect a ton of people to be checking into the hotel as mardi gras is ending?they tried to charge me for a full extra night's stay for the late check out (200 bucks!) so i politely told them i was happy to pay a half day rate (that's fair).

7. so, after i tactfully requested that i be allowed to pay the half day rate rather than a full day rate, the bitter german (?) lady relented and agreed, but gave me total attitude and the cold shoulder, despite me agreeing to pay the half day rate and apologizing for the late check out.
