1. Tried the Rib Room in the lower floor, a well designed, classic restaurant featuring good quality food with reasonable prices.

2. Rooms are kind of small and there's not much room in bathroom to get ready but the price we got through Expedia was excellent so that wasn't a big deal to me.

Compare to other hotels in the area, like the JW (half the price, double the luxury, but on canal st) or the Ritz (also overated in New Orleans, but much better rooms and the have a spa, unlike Omni), or go a star level down (but a room level up) with free breakfast and a historic feel at Iberville Suites.

4. The Dauphine is probably more to my taste overall, with its exposed brick walls, balconies, landscaped courtyards, funky charm and free breakfast, but it wanted $180 a night and the Omni's price was better.

Hotel is close to all the places we love: Nola, the Cafe Beignet, Jackson Square, etc. So, let me sum it up: price was great, room was not huge but quite nice with a view of Royal Street, hotel itself was lovely, location TOPS, hotel staff were very friendly and accomodating, especially Marty, the Bell Captain, who always seemed to be right there wanting to be of service.
