1. The lobby was large, clean and the front desk staff was excellent.

But really, it was the small touches that make me want to come back -- like the doorman remembering me whenever I returned and the front desk staff bringing water to waiting patrons and the bartenders remembering which wine I liked (the Napa Groth -- and this was only after having visited the bar twice.

4. I am giving this hotel an 'excellent' rating because of the helpfulness of the front desk employees and the quality of the room.

5. The main reason I am giving the hotel the highest rating is that once I explained I am a light sleeper and that is why I request a high floor in a quiet area, the front desk employee was sympathetic and did everything possible to accommodate me.

9. Also, the concerns about cable car noise are legit, but the front desk was very accommodating in placing us in interior rooms both weekends, and I never heard the bells at all in either room.
