1. In terms of location, Adagio is about a block off the beaten path (which we actually liked) but VERY close to public transportation and bustling neighborhoods.

3. If you go to the right of the hotel a few blocks, you are in Union Square, if you go to the left of the hotel a few blocks, you are in a not-so-nice neighborhood.

8. The neighborhood also has more than its share of street people but gentrification has proceeded apace since I was last there and you would have to make much more of an effort to get into places that felt seriously uncomfortable after dark.
