1. We recently stayed at the Avenue Hotel, Crowne Plaza in downtown Chicago and loved it.

2. So unless you want to go up for the view - which you can see from the outdoor pool area, we would suggest you skip the hotel breakfast ($40.00 for two) and head downtown to the many excellent and economical breakfast joints that surround the hotel.
