1. Then morning routine was a nice uphill walk to the beautiful lobby and a lovely breakfast, perfect in every way with locally brewed coffee, POG (passion/orange/guava) for the kids, papaya, pineapple and nummy pastries.

2. I would definitely choose this hotel again, OVER the mega-resorts in Wailea, because I prefer the quiet and groomed grounds to the long walks at the mega-hotels, and because I really valued the shuttle service.

3. The bell guys were a great help by taking us on the golf cart with our luggages to the room, which seemed like would've been a long walk to the room itself.

4. 2) The bellman/car service - I didn't rent a car while I was there but the shuttle (a cadillac suv) was always available with no more than a 10 minute wait to take me wherever I wanted in Wailea 3) The rooms were huge and the beds comfortable, the fans and AC worked great 4) The balcony was big w/ amazing views 5) The landscaping was beautiful w/ all the flowers and waterfalls 6) The pool, spa and gym area were all more than adequate for a resort 7) It was walking distance to Mulligan's (a great Irish pub w/ live music) and about a mile walk to MonkeyPod (my favorite restaurant I ate at in Wailea).

5. The carpet in our room was so soiled and stained and disgusting that we couldn't walk on it with bare feet.

6. Perhaps a relatively easy and pleasant walk (although we were too busy with other activities to actually test that assumption), but definitely NOT on the beach.

10. The shuttle service will happily take you and it's a leisurely 15 minute stroll home (to walk off all the food and beer/cocktails).
