1. We were very pleased when we checked in and we were greeted with a very nice anniversary surprise in a room upgrade to a beautiful, corner suite with a view over beautiful Rittenhouse Square.

3. Again, hard to complain, but we got the feeling that for some reason that was more convenient for them (because there's a washer/dryer & kitchen sink in the suite perhaps easier to clean?).

6. The 2nd room was adequate (after we moved from the first which had not been to our liking), but we have had bigger and better rooms (and suites!) elsewhere for HALF the rate we paid for a 'deluxe room' at The Rittenhouse.

7. After returning home from a one night getaway in this hotel (to visit the fantastic Van Gogh Up Close exhibition in the Art Museum) I am now reevaluating hotel rates in general - what is it exactly we are paying for when we are booking hotel accommodations: the room/suite itself, the service, the location, the view.

8. For such a large apartment size suite, I can't believe I had to stop drying my hair, and leave the bathroom, so that my husband could enter and get into the shower.

9. When I went to the front desk and inquired if there might be any renovated rooms available, I was instantly offered an upgrade to a 1BR suite.
