7. noise, our room faced Canal street and I didn't hear regular traffic but the first night I heard several sets of sirens from emergency vehicles.

8. I especially liked how the AC unit had multiple settings for the fan ('auto', 'low' and 'high'), so you could control the amount of white noise would drown out the Canal Street craziness (yelling, sirens, etc.

9. The highlights - very quiet room (away from the noise on Bourbon St), very comfortable bed, clean restroom, etc.

10. The only thing i would recommend is that if you are a very light sleeper and you will be staying on a weekend, you may want to ask for a room that is not directly overlooking Canal street as you may hear some noise.
