1. They will charge you a full cost for two breakfasts if two friends sit down to chat with you without eating.

4. I requested an upgrade, and was given some excuse that they were fully sold out, and then I received a call from the front desk the same day mind you, saying that if I wanted an upgrade it would cost $200 additional dollars per night.

Most of this worked out pretty well (the markup over the regular room rate was about $120; but considering ala carte breakfast for two runs around $50 while a bottle of the French 'Ritz Champagne', if ordered at the hotel bar, costs $133, I felt the package markup turned out to be a fair deal after all).
