1. We did have lovely breakfasts with nice morning staff though, so it sort of smoothed over our initial impression of the food/food staff.

6. My windows faced 15th street and I had a lovely view; not a vista, mind you, but Daniel Burnham's stately Southern Building (1914) across the street is quite impressive and a delight to observe as the sun casts varying shadows on its facade.

7. the lobby restaurant further (ici) impressed us with their family assistance - getting us high chair, kids plastic cups, and great value kids meals with desert (despite appearing like a high class non family restaurant).

10. Good: wonderfully spacious room; plenty of space in the bathroom; large comfy bed; impressive selection of toiletries; very close to the metro; circulator and the tourist attractions, reception and concierge were pleasant and helpful.
