2. This resort is about 50 years old and it is missing some of the newer ammenities of new resorts like plugs, bigger bathrooms and more natural light.

3. The good news was the upgrade price; for $50 dollars more we were moved to a room right on the water, this made my wife very happy.

6. My girlfriend and I wanted to get away for a little staycation and play and didnt really want to do the whole crazy downtown experience durring new years eve, so we picked this hotel as it was right on the bay and still in the middle of San Diego.

7. We stayed two nights in January 2011 and had originally booked the Hotel Solamar in San Diego and due to snow delaying our departure from new York we were offered the Hilton resort as an alternative.
