3. the best things about the Ace Portland: the excellent restaurant Clyde Common downstairs, great coffee shop off the lobby, and the general great atmosphere of the staff and guests in the lobby.

4. The neighborhood: The Ace is located perhaps in the hippest area of Portland, in a small region that has not yet been sanitized and scrubbed and turned generic and predictable, as has been done to the "Pearl District" to the north.
