The rooms sit above one of Portland's
best
coffeehouses (Stumphouse) and a very popular, family-style restaurant (I forget the name) The neighborhood is full of great stores (Powell's Books), restaurants and other attractions.

the
best
things about the Ace Portland: the excellent restaurant Clyde Common downstairs, great coffee shop off the lobby, and the general great atmosphere of the staff and guests in the lobby.

The only thing I didn't like was the bed was a glorified futon mattress and wasn't the
best
night's sleep.

It is true that on the weekend some kids and non-hotel guests might be hanging out, but who cares? THE NEIGHBORHOOD: The Ace's neighbors might be the final peice of the puzzle that made our stay really one of the
best
that we ever had.
