6. In actuality, they have created the 'atmosphere' of a beach complete with beautiful lounge chairs/umbrellas, relaxing music playing from speakers positioned in palm trees, all overlooking Biscayne Bay.

7. I chose the Mandarin Miami based on the positive reviews on Tripadvisor and my previous positive experiences with Mandarin Hotels elsewhere (particularly San Francisco) but was disappointed with the Miami property.

9. Had the hotel responded appropriately (or even politely) we could have salvaged what remained of our stay and even left with a more positive impression of the service, but the utter indifference of the response was so shocking that it caused us to cut short our stay.
