1. The bedding was not new and was of very poor quality to begin with; the bathroom in the room was small and unattractive.

3. The lobby and common areas of the hotel are beautiful and fascinating, including the many old photos in the cavernous ground floor and the various spaces -- the garden that was the old lobby, the new lobby, the giant convention rooms where the Oscars were held in the 1920s.

7. Assigned new room, it smelled of mildew, the 'headboards' were the windows (no, I'm not joking - they did have wood shutters though) and the bathroom was dirty (toothpaste and hair on sink).

8. We found LA a wonderfully warm and friendly city and will be back but I guess we'll have to try a new hotel.
