1. At the corner of Mass Ave and Commonwealth in the middle of Back Bay, it is a terrific location, genteel, quiet (except for traffic), and luxurious enough.

3. The roomwas all we could have wished for except: shower was so-so, fan did not work in the bathroom and the blinds would not shut all the way so that the sun came in right at daybreak.

7. During our recent stay at the Eliot we specified a non-smoking room, which was provided, except that the air vent in the bathroom literally poured fresh cigarette smoke either from another part of the hotel or outside directly into our bathroom.

9. Based on two experiences over five years as both a leisure and a business traveler, I would recommend The Eliot without hesitation, and plan to treat this exceptional small hotel as my first choice for all future travel to Boston.
