1. The second room was no great shakes either - big gap under the room door, a small room for the price, and incredible noise from both our air on unit (which we needed to actually heat the room), but also the unit from the adjoining room.

2. We had some business to take care near Union Square and the location of this hotel was a big plus.

3. The other big pluses are that Union Square is right on the doorstep, the cable car goes by right outside on Powell Street and the Muni is less than a ten minute easy walk away, so getting to the airport from the hotel is also very simple and inexpensive.

4. Definitely not a large, fancy, business-y hotel so if that's what you're looking for, go to one of the big chains.

5. I booked through an discount online site, so maybe this is their way to make up for lost revenue, but for me dishonest management is a big reason to avoid this hotel.

8. It has a very European feel (as opposed to big US chains), as evidenced by the large number of Europeans staying there.
