1. The Fairmont is a truly outstanding hotel with spacious rooms (even the smaller ones), great views, polite and efficient room service, and so close to so much in Chicago without feeling compressed.

5. First of all if you get the chance to visit Chicago do so - it's a great city with many fine buildings and the people are very pleasant and helpful ( not as frenetic as New York which we like also )The Faimont is the usual Faimont fare which is to say quite plush and efficient.

9. You can take the 'L' to the hotel from O'Hare and it's a 6 or 7 block walk from the station but an efficient and cost effective means of transportation.

A few minor let-downs were the following- check-in was crowded and there was a long queue * the staff however managed to deal with everybody swiftly and efficiently with as minimal a wait as possible- car parking or valet parking were pretty tricky during busy times * the hotel has own facilities and one can get the car oneself, but the staff will do their best to get your car to you as soon as possible.
