1. I had a side room looking onto a brick wall, but there was still plenty of light, and I guess good to be away from traffic noise.

2. The subway is a block and a half away and 77th is a quiet street with plenty of cabs the doorman can get you from Amsterdam, so travel to/from the hotel is easy.
