2. The staff were mostly surly (except for the happy cleaners) and the adjoining bar was dark to the point of ridiculous and the breakfast cafe was only okay.

3. Bathroom, clean, serviceable but the shower pressure was dreadful, and there was nowhere to place anything (ie toilet bags) except the floor, or on top of the toilet.

5. The room itself was fine, nothing fancy, but comfortable except for the air conditioner that was really loud and didn't seem to respond to my attempts to lower my room temperature.

6. All might have been forgiven except then when we checked out, they had charged us for the full suite rate, 'prepaid' so we couldn't change it, and the Accounting people wouldn't be in until Monday.

7. This was great except now we had a suite - with 1 king instead of 2 doubles - and we had to ask staff every night to make up the sofa bed.

8. Only minor issue was a leaky shower door seal and the shower stall itself was a little cramped for tall people (myself and my husband), but overall exceptional, more than we expected to get in pricey NYC.

9. As with most city hotels, the room was small, but nicely decorated, and had everything you could expect, large screen HD TV (which we didn`t use except to see how the storm in NY would affect us), nicely appointed bathroom, room safe, Etc.
