1. Since we were staying for a special occasion the hotel staff very kindly accommodated us (thanks Maria) and the suite into which we were upgraded was fantastic - huge (by UK, and I gather New York, standards) (quite a lot bigger than my old flat.

9. From valet service for our car, running up complimentary toiletries or simply calling the room to see if we were happy with our beautiful accommodations, this is an excellent hotel.

10. Otherwise, the bed was comfortable, room was quiet (though I'd strongly suggest staying on an upper floor away from their Lex bar, which plays loud, pulsing music way into the wee hours), staff was nice and accommodating, and you can't beat the neighborhood.
