7. A year and a half ago, we stumbled upon the Hotel newton when we needed an affordable placed to stay in new York while in town to see a Yankees game.

8. We got a rate of just under $500 total for three nights in a queen room with a seating area that included a small sofa and desk/chair, and you really can't beat that rate for new York even in the off season.
