1. A year and a half ago, we stumbled upon the Hotel Newton when we needed an affordable placed to stay in New York while in town to see a Yankees game.

8. That said, two stops (about six minutes) on the express train puts you at Times Square, and an affordable MTA pass gets you there and anywhere else in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens or the Bronx.
