1. The doors do slam and I did hear a few in my hall close late at night, but the heating/cooling unit gave a nice gentle hum that helped drown that out.

6. The wall mounted A/C worked good we just ran it all day so when we returned at night the room was nice a cool and it stayed that way all night.
