1. The hotel is beautifully decorated and styled - the rooms are a little small, but I didn't mind one bit, I enjoyed lounging in my room on the beautiful ice-blue settee, listening to my music on the speaker system, it was very quiet - I enjoyed the super comfortable bed, and while people complained about no in-room coffee, I barely noticed as the 12th floor lounge was just up the hallway, completely with coffee and other things to try.

2. If you want quiet, be sure to request a room away from the 15th floor, the location of Departures, which is their extremely popular bar/restaurant.

5. The lobby did nothing to reassure me that the whole concept behind the top nine floors of the old Meier and Frank building as a luxury hotel was more than a bit contrived but I was simply wowed by the 10 start check in and the 'boys' at the door moving in swiftly and quietly, taking charge of the car, the luggage and all the details.
