1. , we were given contact cards with our names and hotel in case we wanted to hand these out during our stay, and a handwritten note welcoming us--along with a bottle of wine.

3. My husband and I had stayed at the Angler's in South Beach for a couple of nights and thoroughly enjoyed the welcoming, friendly atmosphere of everyone we came in contact with, from the bartender to the front desk.

5. I would also highly recommend trying the hotel restaurant during your stay (or even if you're staying elsewhere) The food was excellent, the menu is great with a wide selection of small and large plates, and we were made very welcome with our little guy.

I was impressed with the Ritz but the Angler's gives me a lot more surprise personal touches - handwritten welcome note, weather forecast notes on bed, a real cactus flowering plants on coffee table, microwave, two LCD wall mounts just for myself, a balcony with a view, portable phone, dimmer lights, .
