1. It's sometimes difficult to say what ingredients go together to make a particular experience exceed expectation or make a particular point in time special, but we will always hold fond memories of the few short days that we spent at this hotel - they were amongst the best for the whole of the trip.

3. The best part I thought was the balcony off our room which we sat to have morning coffee and watched the hustle bustle at the cruise dock.

4. Understaffed? I suggest you book another hotel, I think I would've felt better if I stayed at the best Western just 2 blocks away or stayed somewhere in the Gaslamp district.

5. Very awesome location, right across from one of the best fish restaurants in San Diego (Anthony's Fish Grotto) as well as the bay which has docked the legendary Star of India ship, one of the most haunted ships in the USA.
