The elevator is slow and there was still a 'happy

The hotel offers safety deposit boxes at reception, but when I requested one staff needed to check one was available (with no in-room safe I would have assumed there were enough for every room); having done that they could not issue me with one as all of the record cards for the boxes had been used and the staff on the front desk did not know where to get
new
ones.

The bathroom was small and narrow compared to the average hotel bathroom, and the tile a little worn, but with
new
modern fixtures and granite countertop, and spotlessly clean.

The rooms seem more open to me (maybe they're less stuffed with furniture?) and the bathroom appears to have changed -
new
floor tile, maybe
new
sinks,
new
tubs? Shower head and bathroom fixtures seemed upgraded, too.
