1. The staff were exceedingly friendly - everyone from the doormen to the front desk staff, the bartender and room service went above and beyond responding to requests, helping me with last minute reservation changes and generally making sure my stay was enjoyable.

4. Hilton's in the US generally seem to be of a much lower standard & the poor relations compared to their namesakes overseas.

5. A few things to note about DC in general: the food will be expensive as it is a major city and do not expect your stay to be quiet as a mouse - this is a large city in a bustling location.

7. I have read of expensive internet access, but I was given a generic code for wifi.

8. Wifi costs quite a lot at this hotel (time it got with the programme IMO) so we didn't get any but there are two free terminals in the foyer area which were generally available and free wifi at the Starbucks across the intersection for uploading photos :).

9. The room was fitted with a large flat screen tele, lounge, comfy bed, clean bathroom and overall a generally large room.

10. I generally travel light so I don't need a bell hop to help with my carry-on bag and therefore don't tip anyone and find the service to be in-genuine after that.
