1. We liked the convenient location, but the music from a State Street bar/club was very loud in our room.

3. Upon check-in they have you sign an agreement that you can be charged for excessive noise, but didn't seem to enforce the noise policy-- loud people in the hall at all hours of the night.

4. We did notice, since our last visit however, the proliferation of what others have described as 'homeless' people, but they are in fact unwashed, loud, unpleasant and threatening hippies/drunks/junkies/beggars/beach bums.

5. I would loudly recommend this hotel to others traveling to Santa Barbara, as it provides a great home base for exploring, close to State Street and to the 101.

8. Plus it's 1/2 block off the main street, so it's really quiet at night, even on weekends when the restaurants turn into bars and are blasting loud music.
