1. The distance from the main part of the strip is not that bad at all and we walked it nearly everyday and night and did not feel uncomfortable one bit.

2. Nothing too scary if you've ever lived in a big city, but ladies please be cautious if walking alone at night - there were some shady characters out and about that made me feel uncomfortable when walking back to the hotel from the monorail station (less than a 10 minute walk) at 1 am.

4. Pool was nice and great for small children, (not deep) After staying at 3 other Vegas hotels with terrible experiences and uncomfortable beds Stratosphere will be our Vegas hotel from now on.

6. ) Other than the few things I mentioned the stay was good, it was quiet at night so we were able to get sleep and the beds weren't to uncomfortable, so if your looking for somewhere cheap to stay and off the strip this might be a good place to stay.

There is a gas station nearby with convenience store, area is a bit rough especially at night, a lot of homeless, although they dont bother you it did make uncomfortable walking back one night,The bus stops right outside the hotel going both ways, Freemont street is 10 mins on bus and is cheaper to gamble and eat on then the strip.
