1. The rooms are still comfortable and clean and the city view is great, staff is very friendly and helpful but the continental breakfast 6 months ago was fruit pastries juice hard boiled eggs erc and now consists of dry pasties and coffee.

4. Also, the Joie de Vivre and Laurel Inn websites make it very hard to book the room and get the best rate.

5. The walls are thin so it's kind of hard to sleep in but I think if you try to get a room away from the street you would probably be ok.

6. And when i pressed the issue, the hotel manager seemed genuinely upset for my wife and I that she tried very hard to make alternative arrangements, including offering a room they normally do not rent.

8. Another thing I noticed is that the housekeeping crew hardly made a sound and you never got the feeling that they were anxious to get you moving so they could get their work done (though I`m sure they would have preferred that we moved faster some mornings).

10. )The Inn is in a terrific neighborhood, in walking distance from the Presidio (and the Marina, if you`re hardy), with a great breakfast place right across the street.
