1. unfortunately the note failed to add that we should not open our curtains either as there would be workmen standing 2 feet away on the other side of the window on the ledge which I can assure you was a huge shock on our first morning.

3. unfortunately we were opposite the Royal Suite and on Saturday there was a function in there.

We were unfortunate enough to experience one of the reception staff who felt that we were/probably should not be staying at this hotel (I think the comfortable travel clothing - jeans and t-shirt - might have had something to do with the disdain) but again, nothing that tarnished our stay enough to make it unpleasant.
