1. Turning left and going west towards the market area certainly felt as if you were walking into no mans land, although I wouldnt say unsafe.

2. I did not feel unsafe at all (as a previous reviewer mentioned), you do have to go down a part of the river walk that is a little empty and that is all I can think of that she was talking about? But never scary or dangerous feeling.
