4. The Mayfair was a good hotel in the 80's but it needs some TLC , Air conditioner was noisy , old furniture , dark rooms ,stained sheets.

5. Aside from feeling like we were in a Third World country, the room itself was clean, nice bedding (although stained sheets), the valets and the front desk personnel were pleasant.

6. The overall feel of the hotel is early 1980s pre-Miami Vice 'cool' and my suspicion is that the dark lighting and carpets are more to hide stains.

7. And the hot tub on the balcony of our room had rust stains in it- we were really disappointed by that as part of the reason we got that room was for the hot tub but didn't want to use it after we saw that.
