Although location wise, Westin was better as it is right next door to the Whaler's Village and closer to Black
rock
for those who like to do some snorkeling, Hyatt Regency wins my vote because of its layout.

But that may be by necessity-- the beach in front of the property is small,
rock
y and less exciting than the Black
rock
area in front of the Ka'anapali.

We took our grandkids & chose this hotel for the kids pool area w/ water tube through the
rock
s, wood rope bridge and fountains--and this alone was worth this hotel choice as they used this amenity daily and loved it.

The property is located at the start of all resorts, its Hyatt, Westin, Marriott and then others and ends with Sheraton (Black
rock
Snorkeling).

If you want to snorkel the famous Back
rock
is at Sheraton so you can walk there or take the car there and park at Sheraton.

These other two hotels are very nice, and the Sheraton has a great, though often crowded, beach at Black
rock
, but we preferred the rooms, design, and grounds of the Hyatt.
