1. On a first glance I was disappointed that it is a bit of a walk to Waikiki center (ca 15 min walk) but the hotel amenities (beach equipment, bicyles, free wifi, free coffee and wine happy hour) and friendliness of hotel staff have convinced me.

2. I have been to Waikiki many times over many years and generally get disappointed by the bigger hotels for being too big / too impersonal / too busy.
