The New Otani Kaimana Beach Hotel is a medium-rise,
dated
, sleepy, limited-service, unglamorous hotel that is set on a beautiful beach on the quiet, Diamond Head end of the Waikiki strip -- and it is enchanting.

However, the hotel itself feels tired and

The location and proce for this hotel (summer rate of 190/night) seemed like a good price, but I stayed in the section overlooking the park with microwave and fridge and it was definitely
dated
.

This hotel is very small and
dated
, but it is beachfront property at an extremely low price (atleast tha'st what I paid).

But, still we had an amazing view of the ocean, so who spends their time staring at the
dated
wallpaper anyway?Last time I commented about how quiet my room was.

There are some minor updates done to the rooms, but they are still very

The rooms were
dated
, and I am not talking 1990's more like the 1970's which I would have no issue with except I found the bed to be rather uncomfortable and the rooms to be very small.

date
than actual.

We had a pre-renovation room and it was a bit worn and
dated
(not to mention small), but still clean and quite comfortable.

just a small space on either side of the king-size bed), and the hotel was definitely
dated
, but we loved the location, as it was a good 10-15 minute walk from the hustle bustle of Waikiki.
