1. Its like an apartment rather than a suite and the balcony area has great views of Santa Barbara and is big enough to entertain (we had family staying in another room elsewhere in the b&b).

4. We opened double french doors at the foot of the bed onto a balcony that was easily the size of the living room inside, complete with comfortable all-weather lounge chair and sofa, and 4-person table and padded chairs.

5. The Upham Hotel itself is separate from it's sister property, The Country House - but after seeing photos on this very site of The Penthouse Room (and it's occupying the entire 3rd floor all by itself), I came across photos of a balcony that looked like something out of a travel magazine.
