1. The rooms sit above one of Portland's best coffeehouses (Stumphouse) and a very popular, family-style restaurant (I forget the name) The neighborhood is full of great stores (Powell's Books), restaurants and other attractions.

5. annoyances: didn`t get the gaggle of folks hanging out in the front (seem too much like being at an Apple store), the flimsy desk, the post-NY times hipness and soon overly gentrification of the once seedy neighborhood.

7. Why not stay at a nicer hotel for the same price and eat at Clyde Common and grab a cup of coffee at Stumptown and explore the neighborhood.

8. The neighborhood: The Ace is located perhaps in the hippest area of Portland, in a small region that has not yet been sanitized and scrubbed and turned generic and predictable, as has been done to the "Pearl District" to the north.
