1. I'd often arrive around 9pm so it was always nice to be able to get a late bite at Clyde Common in the lobby with rocking food and casual attentive service (look them up, it's worth it).

2. Downstairs, the lobby has a huge central table surrounded by a sectional couch occupied for most of the day by hip young people with their Macbooks and dour looks on their faces.

6. The little features are cool: think turntables in the rooms, design magazines to flick through, and sure the queue is insane, but the Stumptown Coffee off the lobby is a great way to start the day.

7. The only a bit odd thing were the bunch of wanna-be-stylish people hanging in the lobby all day.

8. Yes, this hotel is self-consciously hip and funky, but I found it charming--love Stumptown coffee, which is in the lobby, love the deli next door, and it's one block from Powell's Books, which is the main reason I go to Portland in the first place.
"What a fun place to stay! " Read full review on TripAdvisor   7/14/2011 Vote
9. There were no flashbacks to college dorm scenes, just a quiet room, excellent food nearby, and a quiet vibe in the lobby downstairs.
