9. The discount also put The Benson in the same price range; and I decided on this hotel because the rooms are more modern (Benson is more old-fashioned and grand).

10. A few other tips for getting a great deal at this (and other Kimpton) hotels: check out their many packages and AAA discounts; look for free valet parking options (otherwise it's $33 a night or $16.50 if you drive a hybrid).
