3. I had searched on the internet for pet- friendly hotels in Portland and was thrilled when I saw that the Vintage Plaza not only accepted pets with no extra charge at all but also had no weight restriction ( our dog is 130 pounds!) .

4. It was 4th of July weekend and everything was perfect from the moment we arrived and the bellboy greeted us, the front desk upgraded our room free of charge and we received a coupon for $10 of mini bar refreshments( a Kimpton in touch perk), The concierge was very helpful with restaurant choices, of which there are many in Portland.

5. They will deliver, free of charge, a package of dog bowls, treats, toys, dog bed, bottled water (!) and even a dog magazine to your room.

9. We were not in charge of the arrangements, and I certainly would not have picked a 'pet friendly' hotel.
