4. They offer a continental style breakfast (hot/cold cereal, muffins, juice etc) delivered to your room daily at the time of your liking (included in the price of room).

5. The others stayed at the Ritz Carlton but I found the nearby The Independent on tripadvisor and I think I did better pretty much all around -- certainly on price and location and arguably even the room, depending on what you like.

6. We stayed at The Independent, a smaller boutique hotel minus all the trappings of a major chain (no valet service, no on-site gym, no parking garage and no hotel bar), but without the jacked-up prices you pay for those luxuries.
