However, as many have noted, the area can be a bit dodgy at night (later at night - early evening was fine) but for dinnertime and shortly thereafter we found the neighborhood had plenty of bars and restaurants with outside seating and enough people around that it was 'pleasantly crowded' with people just enjoying themselves.

5. If that makes you uncomfortable that's on you ( being from NYC that's a plus in our book), but don't be shocked when the boys all congregate out front after the bars close).
