1. The workers at the front desk were extremely nice when we checked in and out of the hotel.

But the service ranged from almost hostile (front desk, my wife call it 'service with a snarl'), to indifferent (housekeeping who blew off cleaning our room one day and didn't seem to care), to friendly and bubbly (staff at the morning breakfast the morning after Fat Tuesday, 5 star service for sure).

The hotel is located just 2 blocks from Canal street and the cross street becomes Bourbon Street as it crosses into the French Quarter, so it's a great location too, close to but also away from the crowds and music that is Bourbon StreetWe had some questions about shipping boxes home and the front desk staff was very accommodating about storing them until Monday when Fed-Ex was able to retrieve the boxes.
