4. Check-in (using a voucher) was a breeze, and after our long drive (arriving around 9 PM) the concierge helpfully pointed us to a fabulous Mexican restaurant (Mas Malo) within walking distance -- lots of vegan and vegetarian choices there as well, and a salsa flight that lets you sample a variety of delicious salsas.

5. It's right in the middle of downtown which means there are plenty of restaurants, bars, etc within walking distance which is a rarity in LA.

6. the rooms are a little different that regular rooms, more futuristic/deco/neuvo but worth the experience - the bar/club on the roof is worth the stay - Restaurants and The Staples Center are within walking distance or a short cab ride.

7. For those who are visiting or new to LA, the hotel is located in a somewhat good location as there's a lot of things to visit within walking distance - such as MOCA and the Disney Hall.

8. Since it is downtown LA, the night life isn't as obvious, but there are a lot of good restaurants to eat within walking distance and if you have a car (which is always recommended if you visit LA since everything is so spread out), Pasadena would be the closest recommended city in my opinion.
