1. The hotel concierge gave us a helpful tip - ask the driver for his/her card when you get in.

Check-in (using a voucher) was a breeze, and after our long drive (arriving around 9 PM) the concierge helpfully pointed us to a fabulous Mexican restaurant (Mas Malo) within walking distance -- lots of vegan and vegetarian choices there as well, and a salsa flight that lets you sample a variety of delicious salsas.

5. The final inexplicable detail that added inconvenience was the bill itemization--which was completely different in our room (via the tv bill access) and at the concierge desk.
