1. If you're going to LA and staying downtown or Hollywood or anywhere else, give yourself a treat and spend at least one night on the beach at the Cadillac Hotel.

2. It is possible to get the local bus to downtown, which takes about an hour and travels through some interesting areas that I was probably glad not to be walking through, but it is cheap at only $1.50.

7. yeah it was really basic and kind of hippy ish but the location was fab (20 seconds from the beach, 5 mins from shops/restaurants) the rooms had everything you needed and we had come from an AWFUL hotel downtown so it was a happy escape.
