1. The available 'trolley' service to Manhattan Beach and other nearby towns was very nice, since we didn't have a rental car, and since there isn't much within walking distance of the hotel - just a Taco Bell and a Denny's.

2. Although the Westin is physically some distance from some attractions in the LA area, the hotel offers shuttles for joggers, one of which goes to the beautiful beach areas to the north.

7. In hindsight, we should have stayed at the Hilton Checkers downtown (which we love from a 3 night stay in 2010), or onto Huntington Beach where we had reservations at a wonderful boutique hotel.

8. Having a full day with not much to do, the concierge referred me to a local shuttle to Manhattan Beach where I had a great day.

9. We didn't rent a car because the shuttle takes you to and from the airport, so we took the trolly for five dollars (all day pass) and visited the huge, fine sandy Manhatten and Memosa beaches, great shops and restaurants.
